They’re many reasons people resent God. Most of the time it is because of loss. Loss of a loved one, loss of family, loss of a job, whatever other loss you can think of people turn that resentment toward God. Now some people resent Him but still believe in him. Others take their resentment and turn it into their reason to not believe God.
For example, “You took my fill in the blank for that I resent you want nothing to do with you and don’t believe in you.” How could you take someone or something so important from me? You’re supposed to love me. I am here to tell you God does love you. He understands your anger, resentment, ect. No matter why your resentment or anger, bring it to God, don’t run from Him to try to heal run towards Him. He’ll listen to any and all problems you have YES EVEN THE PROBLEMS YOU HAVE WITH HIM. We know that Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
He has a purpose for you. As a father, mother, brother, sister, whatever God has a calling in your life to fulfill, let Him.
If you have or had resentment toward God and never accepted Him through Jesus Christ His Son do it now. God loves you no matter how far away you feel from him He does. There is only 1 sin that is unforgivable. That sin is
“Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”
What is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit you ask? Stripping it down, it’s rejecting Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. How is that blaspheming the Holy Spirit? Well the Holy Spirit is the One who convicts our hearts, our inner man, He is sent first to convict you of your need for Jesus Christ and if you reject the Spirit’s convictions ultimately you will die still in your sins and because of that you will NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
John 16:7… 7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
The Holy Spirit’s role is not limited to convicting you of your need for God. He is our Guide and Helper it’s the Spirit who intercedes for us in according to the will of God.
If I accomplish nothing else in this life, it’s my hope and prayer that maybe, just maybe somebody will come to the saving grace through Jesus Christ because I played even the smallest of roles in doing so. That would forever be my biggest and proudest achievement no matter what else may happen throughout my life.
